The extraction procession of total saponins from Cortex Albizziae was optimized by single factor experiment and orthogonal design with saponin yield as the detective marker. The optimum extraction condition was extracting with 14 folds of 70% alcohol for 2 times under reflux, 2 h at every time. The optimized extraction condition is reasonable and scientific, and it could be used in future large-scaled preparation.
