Exploring the basic thought of historical towns transformation on the symbiosis theory frame- work. The trilogy of historical town transformation is proposed which consists of symbiosis system re- search, symbiosis damping analysis and symbiosis of scheme. Studying symbiosis system which con- sists of town and nature, different culture, different interest groups ： a case study of Xingtian Town. Es- tablishing the retrofit scheme： the point of the transformation - the complex and rebirth of town func- tions, the core of transformation -the shape of different space vehicles and coexistence, the power of transformation- the land circulation and manage.
