褶颊虫类Probowmania(Proboumania)的出现,丰富了黔东地区杷榔组上部三叶虫组合,层位明显下延。文章还报道Redlichia(Pteroredlichia)chinensis分节末期到成虫早期个体发育特征。
Recently, Wu Yishan, a teacher from Kaili No. 4 Middle School, took his students to Wenglingtang to do popular observation of natural science. They found a lots of fossils including trilobites and eocrinoids in gray, gray-greenish silty shale, and calcareous, silty mudstone in the upper part of the Lower Cambrian Balang Formation. Through field detailed investigation, except for numerous trilobite specimens, and (echinoderm) eocrinoids the findings include bradoriids, large bivalved arthropods, coelenterates, brachiopods, mollusks, and a large number of ichnofossils. It is a fossil assemblage of polyphyla. So, according to the Balang Formation where the fossils were collected, the fossil assemblage is named the Balang Fauna(Peng Jin et al. , 2005). There are three localities including Wenglintang, Kaili Railway Station and Kaili Cement Factory near northwestern Kaili City. However, fossils from Balang Formation near Wenglingtang are not only numerous but also well-preserved. Lately, a lot of trilobite and (echinoderm) eocrinoid specimens are found in the upper part of Balang Formation of Jianggu town, Zhenyuan County. The fossil assemblage from Balang Formation of Jianggu is the same as that from Kaili City. Eocrinoids and trilobites in Balang Fauna are the most common taxa, and compose the dominant members of the Balang Fauna. Nevertheless, trilobites are rich in genera and species, including 4 genera (subgenera), 5 species, 1 indefinite species. They are Redlichia (Pteroredlichia) chinensis Walcott, 1905 (P1. I. figs. 5--8), Redlichia (Pteroredlichia) chinensis lui Chang 1980 (P1. I, fig. 4), Redlichia ( Pteroredlichia ) murakamii Resser et Endo in Kobayashi, 1935(P1. I, fig. 9), Arthricocephalus chauveaui Bergeron, 1899 (P1. I, fig. 11) ,Changaspis placenta Qian et Lin in Chang et al , 1980a(P1. I. fig. 12), Changaspis micropyge Lee, 1961 (P1. I, fig. 10)and Probowmania (Probowmania) sp. (P1. I, figs. 1--3). Among these taxa Redlichia ( Pteror
