文章以中国上市公司1999—2006年的R&D投资数据为样本,实证检验公司第t-1期董事长和总经理个人特征对公司第t期R&D投资强度的影响。结果发现:高管技术职业经验与其所受教育水平都对公司R&D投资强度有显著的正向影响;高管任期特征对公司R&D投资的影响因高管年龄的不同而有差异。青年组的高管任期与公司R&D投资强度显著正相关.而高龄组的高管任期却对公司R&D投资强度有负面影响:股权激励机制对公司R&D投资的影响也固高管年龄的不同而不同。
This paper makes an empirical analysis into the relationship between R&D investment and executive characteristics by drawing on the data of Chinese listed companies during the period of 1999-2006. The results show that: R&D expenditure has a significant positive correlation with executive's professional background and education level. Although R&D expenditure has a significant positive correlation with executive tenure and equity incentive in the young group, the opposite is true of the elder group.
