英文摘要：

ICOM2011, International Congress on Membranes and Membrane Processes, was held in Amsterdam, Netherlands during July 23--29, 2011. It provided a platform for various scientists and engineers with common interest in membranes science and technology to come together and exchange the ideas and share the updated achievements of this field. This paper presents an overview of ICOM2011 and the progress and tendency in field of membrane science and technology. Moreover, the significance of the incoming ICOM 2014 in Suzhou, China is also stated.
