Taking the Eastern Mining Area in Ansteel Iron and Steel Group Company as a research object, and in view of the problems of exploiting hard in large and complex mines, a new management model of mining and metallurgical engi- neering ： five ore-grade linkage （ore geological grade, ore-mined grade, beneficiation feed grade, concentrate grade, furnace feed grade） is innovatively proposed. In this model ,the theoretical model is established ,practicing the development thinking of getting breakthrough through technological research; realizing the linkage between the processes through the effective pro- ject management; and then fulfilling the overall outcome through optimizing the indexes throughout the mine. The implement of five grade linkage gained a number of important achievements, and obtained great economic and social benefits.
