Nanofiltration is a kind of pressure-driven membrane-separation technique similar to reverse osmosis filtration and uhrafiltration. It has become a hot topic of researches all over the world. At present, nanofiltration technology, which has already got extensive application, is mainly used to water treatment field. The application of nanofihration membrane in treatment of the industrial wastewater, desalination, drinking water, ground water and surface water are summarized. And the pollution problem of nanofihration membrane is discussed. The corresponding solutions to colloidal and biological pollution which are more difficult to deal with have also been proposed. Finally, the economic benefit of nanofihration membrane is discussed.
