Today, ion-sensitive field effect transistor-based biosensors have been applied widely. The advantages, technology of fabrication, operational mechanism and classification of ISFET are discussed in the paper. Application of ISFET in the world in various fields in recent years is reviewed in particular. Moreover, some methods for solving these problems are given. The future of ISFET is prospected that it will develop towards multiplex and multifunction.
