Phthalates are a class of synthetic chemicals with a wide use and easily release to environment. Phthalates enter the body and break down into its secondary metaholites which may play a similar role of estrogen. Phthalates may interfere hormone regulation and the normal function of endocrine system, leading to metabolic diseases. This article focuses on the relationship between phthalates exposure and fat and glucose metabolism and adipoeyte differentiation.
