This paper summarized the current study of classification, action mechanism and herbicide residues determination technology in tea and pointed out that the mechanism of registered herbicide residues in tea was to interfere photosynthesis. Current detection methods for herbicide residues were using gas chromatography-mass spectrometry, mainly including gas chromatography mass spectrometry combined with liquid chromatography mass spectrometry. The trend of the development of herbicide residues was also proposed.
