Diabetes and its complications cause a serious life distress and economic burden to patients. Chinese medicine treatment of diabetes and its complications has a significant effect. It not only delays the duration of diabetes, but also helps to im- prove symptoms and the patients~ quality of life. In recent years Shengmai Powder and its supplemented formula have made good efficacy in the treatment of diabetes. This article reviewed research progress on Shengmai Powder treating diabetes and its compli- cations from clinical studies and experimental research.
