Abstract:The decrease in size of the pipe with square or circular section often results in 10 times m- crease of the specific surface area and the strengthening of the surface force including all kinds of inter- molecular forces. When the size is in 1 nm- 1 μm, the pressure loss is in proportion to intermolecutar forces and in inverse proportion to the square of the characteristic dimension. At the same time, due to the decrease in size, the quality and momentum transfer is strengthened in micro-channels.
