Based on the close reading of text, this paper attempts to give a detailed analysis of narrative strategy in If on a Winter＇s Night, a Traveler, and thus explore Italo Calvino＇s innovation of novel forms and its significance. If on a Winter＇s night, a Traveler is a typical text in Italo Calvino＇s innovation of novel forms, and its unique narrative approach makes novel forms come up to unprecedented freedom.
