With the rapid development of Internet and other new media,cult organizations intend to concoct and spread online rumors for making trouble and disturbing the society. Cult organizations＇ online rumor has a wide variety of contents, method and large spreading energy. Considering the essence of the cult and its existing environment as well as the international situation of ideological struggle, it can be predicted that the online rumor of the cult would exist for a long time abundantly and politically. The active countermeasures to the cult＇ online rumor are as follows：to en？act and improve related laws and regulations; to quicken technical progress; to crank up the resistance lastly; and strengthen propaganda and education against the cult.
