The complicated structure of center-plate used in a novel draft gear for locomotive coupler box is predigested and modeled using mechanics principle,and the stresses of the center-plate and the support-block are calculated with FEA.The results under multi-cases of FEA offer a guide for the optimize design of the center-plate and the support-block and the use of the new kind of draft gear for locomotive coupler box.
