Lumican is a member of small leucine - rich proteoglycans（SLRPs）family. Recent studies have sugges-ted that Lumican involved in regulating cellsˊhomeostasis and cellsˊfunctions. The expression of Lumican is relevant to many malignant tumors,but its expression and effects in tumors still remain unidentified. This review summarizes re-cent data concerning the molecular structure,with a particular focus on its control of expression,effects and action mechanism of Lumican,in different tumors. Its potential therapeutic implications and deep research are also dis-cussed.
