IETF提出了基于网络的移动管理协议PMIPv6,PMIPv6与现有的基于主机的移动管理协议不同,它的移动协议是在一些网络实体之间进行而不包括移动节点MN(mobile node).为了研究基于主机和基于网络的移动管理协议的不同特性,采用了分析模型的方法对PMIPv6及一些基于主机的移动管理协议的信令开销进行了分析,结果表明PMIPv6具有较小的信令开销.
The Internet Engineering Task Force(IETF) proposed a network based mobility management protocol-PMIPv6(Proxy Mobile IPv6).PMIPv6 is different from host based mobility management protocols,whose signaling is transferred among several network entities excluding MN.In order to study the different characteristics of the host-based and the network-based mobility management protocols,the signaling cost of the mobility management protocol PMIPv6 and the host-based mobility management protocols of MIPv6,FMIPv6,HMIPv6,and F-HMIPv6 was analyzed using an analytical model.The results show that the PMIPv6 protocol has a low signaling cost.
