Sulfydryl substituted ahphatic aldehyde was synthesized from 4-bromobutyric acid ethyl ester by three-steps reaction of substitution, reduction and PCC oxidation. The total yield was 87%, the structure was characterized by 1H NMR and ESI-MS.
