Objective To investigate the proper Meeh constant（k） for calculating the body surface area（BSA） of C57BL/6 mouse in the experiments of burn and pharmacology study.MethodsThe body weight and BSA of twenty C57BL/6 mice were measured.The k value of each mouse was calculated and compared with the five common k values （6.0,9.1,9.5,10.0 and 11.4） in normal mice.Results The calculated k value in this group was 9.715±0.142,which was significantly different from the five frequently-used k values（P0.01）.Conclusion A k value of 9.715 should be taken for calculating the BSA of C57BL/6 mouse.
