The common methods for separating copper by hydrometallurgy from copper-lead matte were reviewed. The leaching mechanisms of oxidation-acid leaching,oxidation-alkaline leaching,chlorination leaching,oxidation-ammonia leaching,and slurry electrolysis were introduced. Respectively,the advantages and disadvantages of these methods and their application prospects were discussed. The oxygen pressure acid leaching will have better prospects for treating copper-lead matte.
