The repeatability and reproducibility variation of measurement systems is a major source of differences of measurement data fluctuation, and influences the performance of control charts. Based on the analysis of the repeatability and reproducibility（R＆R） of measurement systems, this paper analyzes the effects of the measurement system＇s capability on the performance of the control charts. The analysis and a calculation instance show that incapable measurement systems have great influence on the performance of control charts, while the capable ones have little influence on it.
