As integrated solution for realizing the vision ofthe next generation ofthe web, semantic web services combine the semantic web technology with web service technology, and thus enable automated discovery, selection, composition and execution of web services. Ontology is the theoretical foundation of semantic web services. Ontologies of web resources description and ontologies of web services description are introduced, then the comparison ofthree prominent web services description frameworks i6 given, thus provides knowledge for building ontologies in semantic web services. The heterogeneity of ontologies in semantic web services is analyzed, and research directions of ontology integration is identified.
