中国与东亚其他经济体是世界市场上主要的制成品提供者,相似的区位分布、禀赋结构和经济发展水平意味着东亚各经济体在国际市场上面临激烈的竞争。本文通过将贸易流量数据分解为数量、质量和多样性等维度,试图洞悉东亚各国各地区出口竞争模式。主要结论如下:首先,东亚各经济体的出口竞争在数量、质量和多样性等多个层面上展开,不同国家地区的竞争优势体现在不同的方面;其次,出口品多样性和质量与经济发展水平密切相关;第三,东亚诸国在世界商品市场上表现出一定竞争性的同时,其内部也存在着密切的贸易联系;第四,大国在绝对数量上出口更多的产品;最后,对于中国而言,改变产品数量竞争模式为质量竞争和多样性竞争模式是实现中国可持续出口增长的必由之路。
As an emerging economy, East Asia is achieving remarkable growth by promoting exportoriented industries. This paper examines the substantial heterogeneity in variety and quality patterns among main exporters. This paper decomposes the trade flow into extensive margin and intensive margin; the latter can be further divided into quality and quantity. In that way, export competition mode is illustrated. The main conclusions are outlined as follows: first, export competition can be reflected in various levels such as quantity, quality and variety; second, products variety and quality have close relationship with development level; third, larger economies export more in absolute terms than small economies;finally, shifting from quantity competition to quality and variety competition is the unique way to achieve sustainable export development for China.
