This paper studied the feasibility of a certain manner in which small satellite given a lift into outer space by our spacecraft was fixed to and separated on orbit from its mother ship. Usability of GPS constellation during small satellite' s separation was analyzed. First, a mathematics qualification on small satellite' s RHCP antenna visibility was analyzed. Second, a GPS satellite visibility mathematics model was studied during separation. In the end, based on these models, usability of GPS constellation was investigated. This paper proposes the method of choosing second launch moment, which ensures GPS constellation usable during separation. Therefore, small satellite can avoid colliding with its mother ship during separation, which proves our small satellite's second launch manner feasible. It can be an important reference to our small satellite's second launch application.
