Based on the theory of reliability, a quantitative method of the maintenance time is proposed in this pa- per, in which can improve the relevance and economy of maintenance activity. Firstly, the impact of predictable maintenance time on the safety and economy of equipments is described. Secondly, a decision-making model of op- timum maintenance time under the principle of minimizing the maintenance cost per unit time in equipment full life cycle is proposed. Finally, the validity and generalizability verification shows that the model can be effectively ap- plied in the decision of optimized maintenance time.
