Interspecific hexaploid somatic hybrid between Jincheng orange and HR （Hamlin orange ＋ Rough lemon ） regenerated via electrofusion flowered seven years after transplantation in greenhouse. Flow cytometry analysis further confirmed its true hexaploid nature. Its pollen stainability and germinability was 40. 8% and 3.7%, respectively. In 2006, the hexalpoid plant flowered again and its pollen stainability was 20. 3%. Since there is no natural citrus hexaploid plant, this is the first report of fertile hexaploid somatic hybrid plant in Citrus.
