Chromogranin A（CGA）belongs to the granin family of acidic soluble proteins.It′s a stress marker released with catecholamines by the adrenal medulla.Studies found that CGA and the derived peptides play important roles in maintaining homeostasis,metabolism of calcium and glucose,cardiovascular function,inflammatory response,pain relief,tissue repair and gastrointestinal movement.Recently,more and more attention has been paid to the roles of CGA and the derived peptides which have the function of antibiosis and immunomodulation.Here is to make a review on the research progress of function of CGA and the derived peptides in natural immune system.
