Luminescent labeling or probing technique is one of the most efficient approaches in analytical chemistry and life science. Its principle is that the qualitative and quantitative information can be obtained from optical methods by measuring the alternation of some certain luminescent features, which is based on the physical or chemical reaction between luminescent matters and analytes. In this article, we summarize recent progress of the applications of luminescent probing technique in the field of analytical chemistry, and highlight the advances in the applications on the detectiong and analyses of metal ions and proteins.
