As an important research field of international economics, the income distribution effect of foreign direct investment to the labor market has always been attracting much attention, but hasn' t come any consistent conclusion. Based on Chinese Household Income Project (CHIP) in 2002 and 2007, this paper empirically examines the impact on urban residents' gender wage gap of foreign investment. Especially, the individual characteristics and urban macroscopic variables are combined in this paper, In order to reduce the endogeneity, the author uses 2SLS and IVQR. The study found that: ( 1 ) foreign investment have significant positive influence on wages for both male and female, but the male' s wage increase obviously faster than female, and the gender wage gap is widening; (2) although foreign investment has positive influence on wages of male and female with different skill, but the gender wage gap is still widening; (3) foreign investment has a larger impact on the gender wage gap of medium and low-income groups than high-income groups, which is consistent in 2002 and 2007.
