The share of labor income in Yangtze River Delta experienced a gradual decrease from 66.5% in 2001 down to 56.6% in 2009,dropped by nearly 10 percentage points. The decline of labor income share is in sharp contrast to the rapid development of economy.Empirical study show that capital investment and labor input of the region have the relationship of replacing each other, and the activities of globalization such as introduction of foreign investment and development of foreign trade do not significantly lead to labor income share decline.Transformation factors have significant influence on labor income share. The rising proportion of secondary and tertiary industry in national economy and the performance competition of local governments lead to the decrease of labor income share, while urbanization increases labor income share on the other hand.
