The status of the coal industry is special in Shanxi economy, once promoted the rapid development of Shanxi economy, but also raise that Shanxi economy relies too much on it, restricted the optimization of the economic structure, this paper analyzes the Shanxi coal industry on the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats, and thus puts forward the strategic choice for the development of Shanxi coal industry transformation.
