To maintain lasting stability and peace and realize the leapfrog develop in Xinjiang, there is a pressing need for promoting ideological and political education for the ethnic minority pre-college students in Xinjiang universities. The thought characteristics of the ethnic minority pre-college students in Xinjiang universities are： relatively strong national consciousness and religion complex, lack of the awareness of law and rules, no specific aim for self-development. To addressing this issue, the education about anti-split and anti-infiltration should be strengthened; the ideological and political education courses and instructors should play the leading roles; unremitting efforts should be made in Theory of Marxism education; daily education and management should be strengthened; colorful cultural activities should be carried out; a combination method should be launched to solve one＇s ideological problems and solving one＇s practical problems, mental health education should be improved.
