During the Ming and Qing dynasties, the widespread use of brick wall led to a series changes on the form and space organization of vernacular architecture in Jiangnan region. Using the vernacular architecture in northern Jiangxi province as a case study, the paper focus on the relationship between the brick wall and the characteristic of vernacular architecture. According to these characteristics of architecture, the meaning of study for traditional building craft in northern Jiangxi province is discussed in this paper.
