Guangliangyou No.5,derived by crossing the PTGMS line Guangzhan 63-4S with a new fragrant restorer Xiang 5,was a new two-line medium hybrid rice combination bred by Food Crops Institute of Hubei Academy of Agricultural Sciences.It had fine grain quality,high yield,suitable maturity and fragrance.The breeding procedure,main characteristics,and high-yielding techniques of cultivation and seed production of Guangliangyou No.5 were introduced.
