Catering to the transition from extensive and inefficient growth to intensive and smart development in the Greater Pearl River Delta region,creating high-quality living environment,attracting high-end talents and aggromerating essential development factors have become the key to enhancing regional competitiveness.In this paper a strategy of building ＇Sunshine Coast＇ in the Greater PRD is put forward based on mixed advantages of local coastal resources,where the ecological environment would be fine,the cultures diverse,the leisure landscapes rich,the public transport facilities good,and new industries agglomerated.For those purpose some measures are suggested：to build a Sunshine Leisure Rim around the Pearl River mouth,to develop leisure coast consisting of public corridors plus coastal communities,to develop coastal cultures,and to promote a cooperation mechanism among different regions on coastal development.
