Inter-organizational relationship (IOR) is a hybrid organizational form spanned over several independent entities. How to maintain a long term cooperative relationship is crucial to the success of IOR. In this paper, motivations, typologies, influential factors and potential risks of IOR are discussed. The research suggests that it is rational to identify possible coordination mechanism according to influential factors to minimize the likelihood of conflict.
