With the development of distributed generation, the research of microgrid has become a hot topic in the field of energy and power, and the operation control of mierogrid is one of the main technologies in the study and application of microgrid. This paper mainly introduces the microgrid research progress at home and abroad, and the control strategies and the research progress for its grid connection operation and islanding operation. Finally the future research focus is discussed for the safe operation of microgrid.
