PIM kinase family proteins are overexpressed in most kinds of tumours, playing a key role in the regulation of the occurrence and development of tumours. Thus, PIM kinases are expected to become a new drug target for treating tumours and small molecule inhibitors exhibit favorable application prospects. This re- view focused on the structures of PIM kinase family, action mechanisms in tumorigenesis as well as small molecule PIM kinase inhibitors from related literatures.
