英文摘要：

Oversea Chinese Studies is an academic field that has appeared after World War II.It focuses on the practical problems in Modern China which involves many subjects including modern Chinese history,politics,economics,military,culture,international relations,etc.As a result,there are enormous research results and many diverse views.In order to strengthen the tracking and analysis of the oversea research of Chinese Studies,it concentrates on the validity of the viewpoint,the accuracy of the historical material,the originality of the research method,and the reasonableness of the result.It is a subject of high academic value and practical significance.It serves the domestic academic needs of research for political science,history and social science and also serves as policy advisors to the Party and the state.To conduct Oversea Chinese Studies research,one needs to pay close attention to the important work in historical theory and techniques,especially solid knowledge of historical theory and historiography.There are four elemental works in this： namely the knowing research information of data sources and basic approaches;the strong grasp of its research method and development;the critical mind regarding the materials and sources,such as combing,textual research and distinguishes;and the proficient use of new technology.Doing well in these four elemental works would have a positive impact on the work of oversea Chinese Studies.
