Hardware-in-the-loop simulation model for automated mechanical transmission （ AMT） of heavy duty commercial vehicle is built. The testing methods of the underlayer and control layer of transmission control unit （ TCU） are put forward and corresponding test cases are added based on actual needs. This paper provides an effective testing method for a TCU program designer to modify control strategies.
