An EPC management mode was introduced, in which general contractor is a design and investigation institute, The necessity and advantages of EPC general contracting in hydropower project with design-led were analyzed, considering the tendency of design-build integration. The supervision system under the EPC mode was discussed, and the general contractor＇ s and owner＇ s management contents and tasks were introduced respectively. An example of Malutang hydropower station project was analyzed. The study is meaningful for promoting the applications of the EPC general contracting mode in hydropower engineering.
