The status of heavy metal pollution on rivers in our country,and the treatment methods to deal with heavy metals in sediments were reviewed in the paper.The paper focused on leaching technology,including acid leaching,completing agent leaching,surfactant leaching,as well as bio-leaching,of heavy metals in river sediments.The prospect of heavy metal remediation in river sediments was discussed.
