Lipid rafts,a lipid bilayer membrane,are cholesterol and sphingolipid-enriched microdomains that function is as unique signal transduction platforms.Lipid rafts not only provide a favorable environment for intra-molecular cross-talk but also provide a help to speed up signal transmission.As an important signaling molecule calcium,it is involved in the regulation of multiple physiological cell functions.Intracellular calcium concentration(i) is regulated by a various signaling molecules,such as calcium pumps,store operated Ca2+ entry(SOCE) and so on.Recent advances in this field suggest that some members of transient receptor potential canonicals(TRPCs),orai1 and stromal interaction molecule 1(STIM1) play an important role in the process of SOCC-mediated calcium influx.Recent studies have demonstrated that a large number of Ca2+ channels and calcium signaling proteins are localized in lipid rafts microdomains,which is attracted more and more attentions.
