The research is carried out on the growth and changes in the thickness of the ice caps in the reservoirs in the cold regions, with the findings that have improved previous thermodynamic models of the ice caps in the reservoirs in cold regions by use of the form of temperature-referenced relevant section function, rather than the ever one-dimensional thermodynamic modal of the empirical constant temperature conductivity, and the implicit difference scheme for discrete. The numerical simulation of the thickness of ice caps is run by reference to the meteorological data in Hongqipao Reservoir, Heilongjiang, in the winter of 2008 and 2009, with its results contrasted with the data of ice thickness captured from field study.
