Based on the successful examples of Shannon International Airport （SNN）, Denver International Airport （DEN）, Hong Kong International Airport （HKG）, Schiphol International Airport （SPL） and their Airport Economic Zones （AEZs）, this paper concludes four patterns of AEZs including gradual method, bound method, up-to-dated method and aerotropolis method, and five stages including preparation, growing-up, mature, bottleneck and aerotropolis of AEZs, divides China＇ s airports and AEZs into three kinds, and also proposes some advices to the government in programming AEZs during different stages.
