Dr. Changhui Ye studied Materials Science at the University of Science and Technology of China, where he obtained his B.S. and M.S. degrees in 1997 and 2000, respectively. Then he joined the Institute of Solid State Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), and obtained Ph.D. degree (2005) in Condensed Matter Physics. His doctoral thesis focused on the controlled synthesis and physical properties of one-dimensional nanomaterials under the supervision of Professor Lide Zhang. During Nov. 2005-Oct. 2007, he worked as a Japan Society for the Promotion of Sciences (JSPS) Postdoctoral Fellow. He is currently a research pro- fessor at Key Laboratory of Materials Physics, Institute of Solid State Physics, CAS, China. His research effort is oriented toward the de- velopment of novel functional nanomaterials, including semiconductors, metals, nanocomposites, porous materials, and biomaterials. Nowadays he is paying attention to develop synthetic techniques for novel materials as photocatalysts and electrocatalysts, aiming at applications in areas of sustainable energy and environment purification. He has authored and co-authored one scientific textbook and more than 60 scientific papers.E-mail: chye@issp.ac.cn.
