Thermal barrier coatings （TBCs） was one of the important materials of turbines for propulsion and power generation with excellent thermal insulation properties and high-temperature oxidation resistance. The evaluation of thermal insulation performance of thermal barrier coatings has been an important indicator of good or bad performance.In this paper, research status and the latest progress about heat insulation performance were reviewed from the points of ceramic materials, preparing technology, mierostructure of TBCs. Finally, the direction of research and development tendency of TBCs was presented.
