十余年来,我国高校纷纷自发试行本科生导师制。一般认为本科生导师制源于英国牛津大学,我们仿效的是牛津模式。牛津模式的本科生导师制源于西方哲学思想传统,是西方哲学思想自身防止知识固化的一种内在机制。但是,从根本上说,它依然属于知识与认知理性的范畴,因而无法彻底解决由此带来的种种弊端。我国现代大学制度源自西方,因而也不可避免地出现了西方传统所衍生的种种弊端。更为严重的是,我们一方面没有学到西方大学自身防止知识固化的内在机制,另一方面也割裂了自身重人格培养的教育传统。所以,我们应该以试行本科生导师制为契机,一方面深入学习西方,洋为中用;另一方面,以我国传统人格教育为基础,不断传承与创新,使两者并行不悖,以重塑我国现代大学教育理念。
The colleges and universities of our country have established the tutorial system for the undergraduates spontaneously one after another in more than a decade. It is generally acknowledged that the tutorial system for undergraduates comes from Oxford University, and what we emulate is just Oxford mode. The Oxford mode is based on the western traditional philosophical thought, and it' s a kind of internal mechanism of preventing knowledge being rigidified in the western traditional philosophical thought. But it can' t completely solve the problems of modern university education, because it is basically in the scope of knowledge and cognitive reason. The modern university system of our country comes from the West, and there are inevitably so many problems come from the western tradition. More seriously, on one hand, we do not learn the internal mechanism of preventing knowledge being rigidified in the western traditional thought, and on the other hand, we separate from our own education tradition which attached particular importance to moral cultivation. So we should let learning the West and returning to our tradition run parallel based on traditional moral education, and remould our education idea of modern university through establishing the tutorial system for the undergraduates.
