The paper briefly reviews the English studies on the history of landscape architecture combining a feminist perspecti,,e since 1990, including dissertations, journal papers, symposiums and other publications. Via chronicled, introductive, descripti,,e or revisionist approaches, these studies uncover women＇s various roles absent in previous landscape history. They reveal the diverse ways that gender has influenced the creation, design, and experience of landscapes, and identify the multiple impetuses and contributions about urban landscape transformations by women. The feminist interventions should circumvent a simple dichotomy, recognize diversity, inclusion and complexity, and initiate interdisciplinary dialogue and critical reexamination of the dominant paradigms for writing the history of landscape architecture.
