This paper gives a fair summary of the concept of data provenance, the tracing method of data provenance, and the storage mechanism of data provenance, and innovatively introduces the data provenance technology within government website information long-term preservation, and analyses the value of government website information management based on the data provenance technology. On this basis, it designs the government website information long-term preservation and management system supported by the technology of data provenance. In addition, the problems and countermeasures of how to realize the government website information long-term preservation are also discussed.
